Located strategically between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, Horizon Shores Marina is undergoing a major transformation. When considering the redevelopment of the aged XYZ Piers, the owners, d’Albora Marinas, required three key outcomes: (i) design to maximise yield, (ii) improved marina product design, and (iii) a turn-key delivery.

Marine Technologies (M-Tech) proudly supplied the power pedestals, customised with d’Albora Marina logos. Each unit is metered for power, and d’Albora will trial the M-Tech Connect system. This smart solution enables marinas to monitor and manage electricity (kWh) and water usage (litres) directly at dockside pedestals. Offering real-time tracking, alerts for abnormal usage or faults, and remote control of supply, M-Tech Connect integrates seamlessly with leading marina management software.

The redevelopment also included compliance with Queensland Fire regulations, achieved with fire hose reels, manual call points, and hydrants positioned at required spacings.

Julien Pouteau, CEO of d’Albora Marinas, commented: “With an improved utilisation of water space, a strong level of enquiries, and importantly a 42% increase in yield, the redevelopment made sound commercial sense to us.”

“This project at Horizon Shores reflects how thoughtful planning, good design and modern materials can come together to create a facility that’s not only functional, but is future-ready.”— Bruce Birtwistle, General Manager, Bellingham Marine
